Faculty Accountant

University

Surrey

Permanent ⁄ £36000 - £41500

Updated April 28, 2008

As a newly created post the position of Faculty Accountant is essential to the continuing growth and progression of the University's academic mission. As one of three faculty accountants you will provide professional and proactive financial support in the Faculty of History and Social Sciences and to the College's external programmes.

The focus of this varied role will include the development and integration of business plans, monitoring and improving financial performance in the Faculty and providing a professional reporting line for support staff with finance responsibilities in the Faculty's departments.

Other key duties will include supporting the planning process within the Faculty, providing financial modelling expertise and advising on the financial sustainability of developments. Continuing from there you will then monitor the performance of projects comparing performance against plans and budgets and offering your financial advice to improve profitability or value for money.
