The main focus of this role is to provide effective financial management and decision support to senior managers within the Estates & Facilities department.
To be a key member of the Estates senior management team by:-
• Co-coordinating and controlling allocated resources to achieve departmental objectives within budget
• Providing insights, information, challenge and sound advice to managers to improve the effectiveness of decision making
• Implementing initiatives and services to meet defined objectives
• Implementing and monitoring compliance with University policy and regulations
• Identifying and implementing efficiency improvements
• Developing the levels of financial and commercial awareness in Estates & Facilities managers and staff
Some of the key accountabilities in this role will be:
• Lead the long term planning and annual budgeting process ensuring a zero based approach and efficient allocation of resources
• Preparation of monthly management accounts including provision of insightful commentary and presentation of results to line managers and staff as appropriate
• Working with colleagues and senior managers across the University, lead the long term capital planning and budgeting process for the institution taking equal responsibility for decision making and influencing other stakeholders.
• Manage the ongoing forecasting of all income and expenditure for the Estates & Facilities department.
• Develop and implement systems enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiencies.
• Lead the financial analysis and investment appraisal for all initiatives ensuring accurate interpretation of all relevant policies and legislation and providing effective decision support.

A CCAB qualified accountant with strong experience in:
