Group Tax Manager

Reporting to the Group Finance Director you will have full responsibility for the tax affairs of both the main group and Care UK's joint venture interest. This will include agreeing and delivering the group tax strategy, managing all tax compliance matters, advising on the tax implications of business activities, tax risk management, maintaining and communicating knowledge of tax legislation and ongoing tax planning.

This is an excellent all-round role and will combine a good balance of tax work, both on compliance and project / planning work.

Primary responsibilities:

Corporation Tax:
• Preparation and submission of all UK Corporation Tax returns for Care UK and PHG
• Dealing with all subsequent enquiries and negotiation with HMRC, ensuring the maintenance of a good working relationship with HMRC
• Ensuring maintenance of UK transfer pricing regulations are in place

VAT
• Manage the submission of all VAT returns for Care UK and PHG
• Recommendation and implementation of the most appropriate VAT registration and grouping for the group's various operating entities

Employment taxes
• Review and advise on efficient employment tax arrangements, including for overseas staff either seconded or employed in the UK

Project / Planning work
• Provide tax input to legal and commercial negotiations on acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, commercial contracts and other business developments as requested
• Pro-actively identify risk management and tax planning opportunities and implement those subsequently agreed

Who we're looking for
The successful candidate is likely to be / have:

• A qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) or CTA with experience gained either in the accounting profession or another commercial organization. Service industry experience is desirable but not essential
• Able to demonstrate sound project management skills and the ability to deliver to tight deadlines
• Ability to articulate technical data and advice and present ideas in non-technical language
• Adaptable and willing to deal with a wide variety of tax issues

What's on offer
