Through pro-active management of a busy team and reporting to the Finance Director you will
• Work with the Finance Director and team you will ensure that systems, processes and controls are effective and supportive of continuous business growth.
• Play a key role in the preparation, review and analysis of all reporting requirements to a variety of stakeholders on a monthly and weekly basis.
• Oversee the job costing/valuations for ongoing and new work with attention to revenue recognition where appropriate.
• Continue to promote finance throughout the business to drive finance projects throughout the business
• You will also be responsible for the statutory accounting for the various entities and the management of the group's cash balances.
• investigate all reporting issues by liaising across a range of business managers to gain a full understanding of the business and build strong relationships
This role will also provide support to the Finance Director so will deputise for him and provide input and assistance on various ad-hoc projects.
Who we're looking for
You will be an ambitious and highly motivated qualified accountant, either with experience of working in a fast-paced SME environment, or with a blue-chip background and keen to take a more responsible role at the centre of a smaller business.
You will be comfortable liaising with colleagues at all levels across the business and posses strong communication and influencing skills. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to manage a team as well be part of a team. You appreciate that this is a hands on role that will require involvement in all areas of the accounting function and the need to be adaptable.
You will need to quickly develop a strong commercial understanding of the business and its operations.
In addition to your ability to multi-task effectively you will be hungry to grow the position and your involvement in the business
