This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Pets at Home Buying team as a Buyer, reporting directly into the General Manager, Trading. This role will have a strong focus on new product development for our own brand food and treats range and therefore the successful candidate must possess new product development experience.
The main responsibilities of this role are:
•To achieve sales and margin targets for specific category as laid out in Business Plan
•Responsibility for portfolio of product within Pet Food Department
•To support the implementation of range strategy as laid out in Business Plan.
•The creation and implementation of Promotional Programme.
•The development and creation of new skus.
•To monitor sales and margin and develop plans to maximise profitability.
•To develop effective relationships with functional units such as Replenishment, Merchandising, Marketing, Retails and Logistics to resolve issues/improve efficiencies.
•To monitor competitor product range and price.
Who we're looking for
You will currently be working as a buyer or assistant buyer with experience gained within a retail environment and will be of graduate calibre. You will have excellent negotiation and numeracy skills, strong commerciality and will have a demonstrable track record of growth in your category. Based in the North West or willing to relocate you will be an authority in your sector and you will posses the creativity and ambition to produce the results required. Most importantly you should have a strong track record of NPD, possibly gained within a food retail environment.
