The COO is responsible for the integration, co-ordination and management of all key processes in the office. Further, the COO is responsible for ensuring that the necessary support infrastructure and core processes are established and maintained to support the activities of local practices, and business services functions.
The COO is responsible for co-ordinating the business planning process for the office, and, individual practice groups. The COO is responsible for both setting the budgets and ensuring budget holders remain within their set limits. The COO assists the practice groups with regard to financial housekeeping and advising on profitability.
Success in the role derives from being able to influence the development and implementation of : strategy, planning, financial management, business management, business development, business services management and people management.
More widely the COO has responsibility for representing the interests of the office and national practice areas in a range of management fora, (e.g. co-ordination with NMPs for partners meetings) and regional meetings.
The COO will challenge the thinking and assumptions (re markets, products, people and operating model) for each practice area and the office overall.
Who we're looking for
Profile:
•Deep experience in a pro-active management or operational role in a leading international organisation
• Experience in managing both revenue and cost centres and in troubleshooting to enhance profitability
• Coaching, mentoring
• Skilled in MIS, budgeting, forecasting, operations and business development
• Skilled in people-management; will have managed teams / functions of at least 15 people
• Client focussed
• Proven management skills in achieving results through others
• Successful change management track record
• Able to run many projects simultaneously
