Legal Counsel

BAE Systems Land Systems

Due to a significantly increasing workload and turnover of personnel there is a need for an additional lawyer to join the legal team that provides legal services to this dynamic and developing business.

Reporting to the Chief Counsel you will advise the Land Systems business on all aspects of its legal affairs. The role will include a significant amount of involvement with emerging through life support solutions for the UK armoured fighting vehicle fleet.

Key responsibilities:
- Counselling the Land Systems business unit on all aspects of its legal affairs.
- Evaluating and managing the legal and other non-financial risk in the business unit through the application of legal judgement.
- Utilising the applicable legal and regulatory framework to create business advantage.
- Providing accurate, practical and timely legal solutions that complement and enhance organisational strategy.
- Developing legal awareness and contracting skills across the business.
- Delivering regulatory, ethical and internal policy compliance in all business activities.

Who we're looking for
As a commercial generalist you will have significant legal experience in contract law and a wide range of commercial agreements, as well as a good grounding in litigation / dispute resolution, intellectual property and legal compliance.
