The job requires a talented and enthusiastic marketing manager to drive and manage the NMA marketing initiatives.
Key activities
• Contribute ideas and insight to the NMA marketing strategy
• Development of insightful briefs for all marketing projects
• Day to day management of creative development and production of newspaper, trade and digital campaigns, working closely with both internal resource and the NMA's advertising, design, direct marketing and digital agencies
• Work closely with the NMA database manager to ensure direct marketing targeting is optimal
• Work in partnership with the NMA's event manager to ensure that NMA events sustain the current high standards
• Development of compelling presentation materials utilising PowerPoint and video
• Presenting to the most senior marketing and commercial management of major UK advertisers- Nestle, Kraft, Kellogg, LloydsTSB, RBS, M&S, Tesco, Toyota, VW etc.
• Work closely with the Web Editor to originate new content for the site and ensure that the site fits with the rest of the marketing mix
Who we're looking for
Ideal profile
The ideal candidate will have recent demonstrableexperience in marketing ideally on the client side. A good creative agency person with strong commercial acumen may also meet the profile. A good degree is a pre requisite as the marketing role requires the translation of sometimes complex research information into compelling campaigns and presentations.
A self confident and highly motivated individual who is good on both detail and the 'big picture' with a can do attitude and entrepreneurial fleur as we are constantly forging new ground.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to confidently and competently work across functions as the role requires liaison with a wide range of both internal personnel and external agencies, clients and the national newspapers. They need to be presentable, articulate and gain the confidence of senior people quickly.
Good creative judgement and understanding of the role of national newspaper advertising in the marketing mix. An individual that is capable and experienced in developing branded propositions that they are able to drive across the marketing mix.
They will bring intellectual curiosity and a genuine fascination with all things media to the role.
