Head of Commercial - UK Retail

Aggressively grow a cost effective UK Commercial retail network by negotiating commercial terms of business with business partners, identify new business opportunities, monitor competitor activity and implement plans to grow market share. Key areas of focus will be to:
• Analyse new business opportunities in order to develop the Travelex presence at gateways, rail stations and on the high street.
• Proactively renegotiate commercial terms of business in existing locations.
• Aggressively expand the Concessionaire business, working with multiple UK retailers, to cater for all their banking and Foreign Exchange requirements.
• Lead tender and commercial negotiation process.
Key accountabilities will also entail:
• The delivery of first class customer relationship management.
• Active membership of the UK retail leadership team contributing to the strategic and operational goals of the business.
• Manage a team of direct reports providing leadership, development and technical support in the delivery of the business objectives in a practical and operational way.

Who we're looking for
You will be reporting to the UK Regional Divisional Director, your key stake holders will be the Retail Operations Director, Head of Finance, HR Director, Regional Managers, Area Managers and the Retail Support Team. As such you must have the gravitas and exposure to all levels of decision maker, and be flexible in dealing with board level through to middle management stakeholders.
• Driven, with a can do positive attitude, a successful commercial track record and possessing a sense of urgency you will have experience of negotiating within the retail environment. The ideal candidate will be at degree level, have progressed rapidly from a store management background, through multi-site Area / Regional management operational roles and will have then made their mark in the commercial Head Office environment.
• You will have outstanding business commercial acumen, be autonomous, possess great numerical and analytical skills and ideally have a sound understanding of foreign exchange retail commercial terms. A true leader, experienced in managing large teams, a great relationship manager and possessing excellent presentation skills.
• Travelex are open on the retail sector that you have worked in, and potential areas of experience you have encountered could range from Buying, Merchandising, Property, Business Development, Commercial or Franchising.
