Business Support Accountant

• Public Sector experience<BR>• Understanding of operational services and associated management reporting requirements
• Management and/or financial accounting experience<BR>• Strong experience of analysis type work eg interrogating a complex system, understanding the implications of actions taken in the system

Who we're looking for
• Qualified accountant (or part qualified)
• Financially sound (ability to quickly understand budget position, service requirements, and future requirements)
• Systems ability (strong excel skills, general systems exposure to financial management systems)
• Communication skills (strong interpersonal skills, able to stand up to scrutiny)
• Largely autonomous role
• Key requirement - experience in liaising with a team of staff with diverse duties, proven staff management skills

In detail
• Production of monthly reports to clients
• Production of monthly reports to management
• Development of new reports according to needs
• Attendance at monthly client meetings
• Liaise with clients and management
• Preparation of briefing notes
• Quarterly budget monitoring (corporate)
• Review and enhancement of processes
• Fleet analysis
• Trend analysis
• Building spreadsheets and modelling financial data
• Production and analysis of financial data to support departmental decision making
• Involvement in budget setting and forecasting
