To primarily provide regulatory and technical information to Marketing, Sales, and external customers as appropriate, in support of agreed business objectives. To liaise with their sister company to support local and global business objectives as appropriate. Responsibilities include;
• To influence the European Commission, Codex Alimentarius (as appropriate), UK Government and International and local nutritional policy makers, directly and through leading nutritional opinion leaders.
• To ensure that all relevant internal staff ( Product Managers, sales staff) are aware of all the regulatory and technical developments and are equipped with relevant information to enable them to make decisions in their area.
• To liaise with stakeholders on the technical aspects of product development of existing products and product lines to ensure compliance with both regulatory and customer needs.
• Ensure that there is a continuous monitoring process in place in order to keep plans on track and spot/rectify issues.
• To act as an internal technical expert/consultant, reviewing the relevant parts of SOPs from other internal departments to ensure that advertising, packaging, training and communications materials comply with current regulatory requirements, are factual and up-to-date.
Who we're looking for
• A sound knowledge of the UK , EU and CODEX regulatory environment, and the processes of regulation development.
• Degree (or post graduate degree) in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Proven experience in a relevant regulatory role within the food industry is essential, as is a good commercial outlook.
• Good communication skills and anability to influence decisions at all levels.
