This is a key role within the Finance function. Reporting to and working closely with the Group Finance Director the responsibilities of the position will be varied and challenging. This opportunity allows a broad look at the business and provides a wide ranging exposure to the business and accounting functions. Responsibilities include:
• Interfacing closely with IT and Finance in order to develop financial systems
• Preparation and presentation of management accounts, statutory accounts, balance sheet and cash flow management
• Production of timely and relevant cost information for senior management
• Developing the business analysis function including KPI's and responsibility over the budgeting process
• Mentor junior staff and review their work
• Liaising with auditors
• Real involvement in the continual improvement of the general business process and MIP
• Other ad hoc project work
Who we're looking for
The successful applicant will be technically capable, and also will possess the personal characteristics to succeed in a challenging business environment. Candidates will be:
• A qualified accountant
• A self-starter able to build relationships with finance and operational staff at all levels
• Be adaptive to the work requirements and have a flexible approach
• Be comfortable in a 'hands on role' and looking at ways to develop the finance function
• Previous exposure to FSA regulatory reporting
