My client is a highly respected, global front office software supplier with a portfolio of market leading trading and financial systems. They are looking for a first class Infrastructure Manager to report in to the IT Director and manage their strategic data centres. This is a rare opportunity to join a £2.5 billion turnover company (with a steady 20% growth over the past 18 years) which offers excellent career prospects.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for ensuring 24/7 continuity of data centre services
• Work with Corporate IT in the US to ensure consistent deployment and support of messaging and directory services
• Ensure all services comply with Corporate Security Policies
• Provide advice and guidance to regional IT groups on best practise for design and operation of local data centres
• Ensure that wide and local area networks are highly available and secured to Corporate standards whilst still fulfilling all the accessibility and performance requirements of the business
• Report on availability and performance metrics to senior IT executives
• Ensure virtual infrastructure in the data centres is highly available and equal to the requirements of the business
• Provide advice and guidance on virtualisation, SANs and blades servers to the rest of the business
• Deliver continual service improvement
• Perform capacity planning and produce investment plans for all supported environments
• Manage and lead the team
Who we're looking for
Required:
• Experience of SANs and virtual infrastructure
• Experience of hosting 3000+ user environments
• Highly developed service delivery attitude
• Technically competent in Microsoft architecture including Active Directory, Exchange and SQL
• Knowledge of VMWare ESX
• Methodical
• Have an attention to detail
• Energetic and ambitious
• Ability to identify problems
