Production Engineer

Our Client is seeking Production Engineers to develop and support the Production Engineering team with particular emphasis on optimising operational performance and achieving quality, safety, and customer satisfaction to KPI targets. Principal Accountabilities will be:
• To work with management, production operators and engineering team to significantly improve efficiencies in the section, aiming to achieve "right first time, every time" standards of quality and delivery.
• To project manage the installation of new machinery and equipment.
• To implement cycle time and headcount reductions through automation and improvement activities.
• To manage the introduction of new products and the trialling process.
• Responsible for the initial creation of PFMEA's, Process Plans, Process Drawings.
• Liaising with suppliers to ensure the right product, price and delivery.
• Implementing cost saving exercises.
• Co-ordinating set-up time reduction projects.
• Produce process stage drawings, flow charts and control plans.
• To build project teams and lead team meetings and conduct presentations as necessary.
• To be responsible for a Capital Expenditure budget, sourcing equipment and making investment decisions where required.

Who we're looking for
Candidates must be of "graduate calibre", ideally with a B Eng or equivalent. Alternatively, the successful candidate could be qualified to degree standard (or equivalent) in Manufacturing Systems, Automotive Manufacturing etc. The minimum standard of HNC in Engineering or similar would be acceptable in a candidate with a high level of relevant work experience.
• Proven experience in production engineering
• Experience in cycle time reduction and know how to quantify improvements in the production process.
• Experience in process design.
• Experience in a high volume/high complexity manufacturing, preferably JIT automotive, environment.
• A good understanding of Lean, Kaizen / Continuous Improvement techniques.
• Project management skills, with an understanding of project management tools and processes.
• The ability to read and interpret design drawings is required.
• High level of numerical and analytical ability
• A structured, methodical and fact-based approach to problem solving and decision making processes
• Proven Presentation Skills
