My client are a growing Construction Services company looking to develop and grow and new Procurement Department. They are looking for a Purchasing Manager to define, implement and take ownership of Procurement Strategy dealing with a total spend of £7m. A major part of this role will be to develop and implement best practice processes and procedures, put in place a IT procurement system, monitor and manage stock control and review and identify any cost savings across both direct and indirect spend. The incoming Purchasing manager will also be responsible for recruiting an assistant buyer, establishing and running a strong and defined Purchasing Department.
Who we're looking for
A driven Purchasing Manager with a keen business sense and developed team working skills.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
• Comprehensive understanding of Procurement procedures and processes.
• Proven Track record in defining and implementing leading edge Procurement Strategy.
• Strong Leader with top influencing and negotiation skills with both suppliers and key internal stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ownership of Change Management.
• Resilient and can work in high pressured environment.
• Excellent IT procurement skills, implementing and managing systems (SAP, MRP, i-Oracle).
