This new commercially focused role has arisen following a restructure of the business. This is a key role which will help Spire Bristol hospital(formerly BUPA hospital, Bristol) achieve their ambition of being one of the UK's biggest and best independent hospitals.
Closely working with the Hospital Director and Head of Clinical Services, this position has a critical role to play in shaping and delivering short and long term business objectives as a key member of the hospital's Senior Management Team.
Role outline:
• Provision of clear professional leadership for financial analysis, review and governance at the hospital and for the management of non-clinical services throughout the site.
• Providing financial and corporate governance leadership for the hospital
• Providing advice and clear analytical information to the hospital's management team as required
• Financial reporting in line with Spire Healthcare's reporting framework
• Leading a customer focused culture throughout the hospital
• Ensuring that an effective system of internal control is applied throughout the hospital.
• Driving and implementing regular process and operational reviews to ensure best practice and maximum utilization of resources.
Responsibilities include;
• Produce monthly management accounts, forecasts and annual operating plans, together with supporting commentaries and variance analysis, including initiating and tracking remedial action plans where appropriate.
• In conjunction with the hospital management team Prioritise capital expenditure and prepare financial justifications to support business cases, leading the capex process at hospital level.
• Contribute to the wider finance community through sharing of best practices and learning experiences, attend Finance meetings as required and maintain regular communication with the Finance Controller. Undertake high level financial analysis where required.
• Work with the others members of the hospital team to ensure that locally controlled pricing is robust and profitable ensuring a balance between competitiveness and revenue maximization. Ensure that costing analysis yields meaningful and practical information about the hospitals cost base and identify opportunities to drive improvements in resource utilisation.
Who we're looking for
• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
•Management experience to include operational and financial management
• Commercially astute.
• Strong interpersonal skills with experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team desirable.
• Good communication and influencing skills.
• Inspires confidence, can influence others, offer challenge constructively and build strong working relationships.
• Able to understand key business processes and complex business issues.
• Role models high standards of personal integrity, displays initiative and identifies opportunities for personal development.
• PC literate, able to adopt and contribute to the introduction and development of new systems.
