This high profile commercial role is within Group Finance directly reporting to the Group Financial Reporting Accountant. This is envisaged to be a broad role offering the opportunity to experience a wide range of strategic group activities. The role will assist the Group Financial Reporting Accountant in all aspects of external Group reporting including the statutory accounts for the Group and its two intermediary holding companies.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to acquire a comprehensive overview of a Group Finance department within a small highly motivated team within a company that has an exceptional track record of organic and acquisitive growth.
The role is expected to work closely not only with the Group Finance Team but also with the Company Secretarial department, M&A department, and Communications department.
The key requirements of the role are:
• Ownership of the financial reporting of the Groups two intermediary holding companies
• Manage the tracking of the city analysts models and consensus expectation and provide analysis compared to internal expectations and budgets
• Manage a number of discrete projects covering share based payment modelling, dividend forecasting, review of accounting implications of M&A activity and deal structure
• Provide intellectual insight and knowledge of up and coming accounting developments through continuing professional development and communicate these finding to the wider team and Group finance professionals
• Assist the Group Financial Reporting Accountant in managing the Group consolidation model and production of the Group Annual Report and Accounts
Who we're looking for
• Ability to manage a discreet number of projects concurrently
• Experience to assess issues and write concise reports
• Effective team player - able to work effectively as part of a small team and direct advisors and external consultants
• Self motivated and able to work with limited supervision
• Demonstrated excellence in financial accounting and reporting
• Flexible enough to know when to bend and strong enough to know when to resist
Qualifications:
• Qualified to degree level
• ACA Qualified accountant
• Excellent PC skills - Word, Excel
• A full driving licence is required
