As Compliance Manager in either Jersey or Guernsey, your role is to support the International Affluent, Wealth Intermediary and Wealth Advisory business areas of Barclays Wealth , which provide a wide range of banking, investment and fiduciary products and services to their international clients. The Compliance Managers will play a lead role by providing advice and guidance on the regulatory risks associated with those activities.
In Jersey, the role holder will work closely with the Jersey Head of Compliance and in Guernsey, will work closely with the Head of Compliance for the Offshore Islands. In both roles, the job holders must ensure the delivery of world class compliance support for the full range of regulated activities carried out by local businesses. The role holders will work closely with team members in Jersey, Guernsey, IOM, and Cayman to co-ordinate, support and deliver a consistent service.
In Guernsey, the Compliance Manager will also act as the Money Laundering Compliance Officer and will play a lead role in preventing and forestalling Money Laundering for all regulated Barclays Wealth Licence holders there. This individual will manage the activities of the Money Laundering Reporting Officer and ensure that reports are considered and submitted in accordance with local regulations. They will also drive the performance standards of the MLRO and provide coaching and training to the MLRO.
Who we're looking for
Applicants must possess significant experience of delivering high quality generalist compliance support to a sophisticated client base, with a significant proportion of their career spent with the financial services or investment management sectors, with day to day interaction with Senior Executives. Applicants must be able to demonstrate solid international experience, be comfortable with cross-border activities, and may have spent a period of their career working internationally. Applicants must be able to demonstrate proven depth in the core areas of Banking, Investment, Fiduciary and Fund Management and administration, and be able to quickly apply a combination of technical and commercial thinking to any business issue arising. Demonstrable knowledge of Financial crime is required for the Guernsey based role. A natural change manager and project leader, the successful applicant will be comfortable in fast growing and complex environments and be able to move effortlessly between strategic topics to day to day regulatory risks. In addition, the applicant will be able to demonstrate a depth of commercial understanding of the businesses they have supported in the past coupled with an appetite to build a deep appreciation of the international wealth business. In both roles, a high quality degree level education and a first class general academic track record is required. Full membership of a professional body an advantage.
