Reporting to the Plant Director UK , the head of purchasing will take up full responsibility for the daily operations of this new department. Main tasks will include; responsibility for all local purchasing matters for the UK operations, negotiating prices and contracts with local and international suppliers. You will also be fully involved in international sourcing projects and will provide a crucial link between the UK and the head office in Austria. You will constantly look for cost efficiencies and evaluation of the various suppliers. This is a genuine Greenfield start up and you will grow the team in line with the requirements of the business in the UK.
Who we're looking for
You will be a purchasing professional who is used to working in a production environment. A prior background within Dairy or Food production would be an advantage, alongside previous "start up" knowledge although the ability of the individual to negotiate and lead a new team will take priority. This is a company that is experiencing unprecedented growth and the individual will thrive in this environment.
