Reporting into the Chief Engineer the initial focus will be to understand the energy and plant facility needs in order to generate a strategic plan that will manage cost and support sustainable growth. Moving on the role will aid the Chief Engineer in managing maintenance staff to establish an effective TPM program thus enabling production to achieve tough operational targets.

Who we're looking for
Key requirements to succeed in this position will be:
• Strong leadership and man management skills
• Knowledge of energy management program development
• Proven project management skills
• Familiar with continuous 24/7 production environment
• Good knowledge of TPM and lean methodologies& techniques
• Strong general engineering base
• Relevant industry background

About our client
Avon Tyres were purchased by Cooper Tires in 1997 as part of their strategy to break into the European market. The site is robust and has developed a strong ethos of process improvement and cost reduction. There is huge product complexity including focus on specialist applications (e.g. motorcycle tyres and A1 grand prix race tyres) with well in excess of 1000 product ranges offered. The facility will benefit from a further significant investment over the next year to eighteen months demonstrating the commitment of Cooper to Melksham.
