Legal Director

Financial Services

Swindon

Permanent ⁄ £70000 - £100000

Updated September 14, 2008

As part of the plan for continued growth at Openwork there is a rare and excellent opportunity for a senior lawyer to become Legal Director. This will be the first in-house legal position and will be tasked with providing professional management and expertise to oversee the regulatory operations of the business, manage external legal advisers and provide commercial legal advice across all functions.

This position, located within an hour's train journey from London, will offer city quality work within a regional setting. The purpose of this appointment is crucial to ensure Openwork:

• fulfils its regulatory obligations to the Financial Services Authority.
• operates effective regulatory, commercial and legal risk management
• maximises its potential in future M&A activity.

Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate for the Legal Director position should have a strong relevant history and understanding of financial services, regulatory and compliance work plus an impressive commercial record within business management. It is anticipated that this role will, after a period of induction, join the executive committee and relevant boards, so there is a real need for the gravitas and influencing ability only gained from a successful career.

What's on offer
In return the successful candidate will receive a market leading six figure salary package and a personal share in the future value of the business plus the autonomy and opportunity to really make a mark within this entrepreneurial, growing organisation
