Working with both external clients and an internal market generated through inter-office team-working, you will be managing extremely interesting and varied range of work with both commercial and public sector clients. This role is based in and around the Oxfordshire region and sits within the Property and Surveying team, you will be additionally supported by Building Services Engineers and Health and Safety specialists.
As Senior Building Surveyor you will report to the Business Manager and have the opportunity to work on multi disciplinary projects that vary in size, typically these activities might focus on the following areas of work:
• Refurbishment
• Conversion/Alteration
• Building Maintenance Survey
• Defects Analysis
• Dilapidations
Who we're looking for
Reporting to the Business Manager, the successful candidate will be expected to deliver a high standard of technical and professional service to clients and have the ability to work both independently and as part of our team.The successful candidate will have a professional approach and strong commercial awareness. Effective verbal and written communication skills are vital as the candidate will be required to deal directly with clients. A high level of technical ability is essential as the role includes scheme design and specification.
The successful applicant will require the following:
• Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Or A proven track record in developing existing clients and winning new work).
• Expertise in all areas of building surveying including refurbishment, survey, feasibility, budget control etc.
• Knowledge of legislation relating to construction projects including Planning, Building Regulations and the CDM Regulations etc.
• IT literacy.
• To travel to client premises as and when required to attend site meetings.
• Ability to guide and mentor junior members of the Team to complete their APC
• Good commercial awareness of the Oxfordshire region.
