The role will be part of the senior management team on site. The site Finance Manager will work proactively with the General Manager and others on site to continuously improve the performance of the plant while also ensuring that proper financial controls are in place and that all financial reporting is timely and accurate.
Scope of the role:
- Proactively analyse all financial reporting output to identify important trends and issues and to ensure that appropriate actions are put in place
- Manage the budget and quarterly forecasting processes for the site
- Development of site reporting systems in particular utilisation of SAP
- Ensure maximisation of capital expenditure
- Ensure proper controls are in place to manage site overhead spend of c.£14m p.a.
- Ensure proper monitoring and wastage control measures are in place for site materials throughput of c.£140m p.a.
- Advise and guide site general manager on all financial matters
- Develop finance staff on site to be able to provide full cover for finance manager role
- Actively participate as part of the senior management team in the development of the site
Who we're looking for
- Operationally focussed finance professional
- Qualified Accountant
- Ideally from a food manufacturing background
- Ability to be a strong and senior member of the Senior Management Team
- Ideally SAP experienced but not absolutely necessary
- Ability to quickly grasp the commerciality of a particular issue or decision and advise accordingly
- Experience of financial management on a site with a large value of stockholding
- Able to demonstrate previous experience of successful financial reporting system development
- Strong Interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with others from all levels within the business
- Previous experience in presentation of and post investment analysis on capital expenditure projects
