The opening a new National Distribution Centre and adding to our product portfolio in our centres reinforces the Kwik-Fit strategy of constantly adapting to an ever changing retail environment. To manage this change the company requires high calibre financial people who can help drive, influence and manage that change and contribute to the continued success of the business.
Due to our desire to constantly develop the standards of financial performance through robust reporting and analysis the new role of Group Reporting Performance Accountant has been created. .You will report to the Group Financial Controller and be part of a team responsible for all levels of financial reporting across an £800m plus pan European Group. The important part of this role is not just compiling the numbers but the analysis and recommendations behind them, the successful candidate will combine strong analytical skills with a gravitas that will allow them to build relationships with and influence senior finance colleagues in the UK and across Europe.The post holders recommendations will have a direct impact on the financial performance and key decision making within the group.
The role will include but not be limited to;
• Liaison with senior Finance staff in the UK and continental Europe
• Assist GFC in liaison with external and internal auditors and with lending banks
• Supervision of all aspects of internal financial reporting to the Board and Group executive directors
• Responsibility for preparation and enhancement of monthly Group reporting package
• Preparation of financial results presentation for the Board
• Analysis and interpretation of divisional results as an integral part of the above
• Ensure consistency of reporting practices across the Group including compliance with Group accounting policies
In addition to the above the role will also fulfil various ad hoc projects including, (acquisitions and disposals, debt refinancing, transaction support, review of Group accounting policies and procedures and assisting in the conversion of Group UK GAAP financial statements into IFRS
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA) with significant experience in a commercial environment.
• The ideal candidate will have a background in retail although those with experience in industry environments such as distribution or manufacturing would also be favoured.
• Excellent communication skills are essential to this role as is the ability to be proactive and challenge the status quo.
• You should be capable of working effectively on your own and also as part of the finance team.
The successful candidate will have highly developed interpersonal skills allowing them to influence key stakeholders at all levels across the business.Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to make an impact on an already successful organisation and help contribute to its long term future.
