Financial accounting
• Leading the timely and accurate production of balance sheet and profit & loss financial accounting information on a periodic basis to support production of comprehensive financial MI and statutory accounts for wholesale business units and entities.
• Leading the provision of financial data, supporting commentaries and analyses to wholesale management
• Leading the Treasury accounting function to ensure compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements.
• Maintain controls over accounting systems to ensure that all underlying transactions are recorded completely and accurately
Business partnering
• Deliver insightful financial information including explanations for key financial performance variances, KPIs, balanced scorecards to meet customer requirements and timescales
• Deliver financial plans, budgets and forecasts for the wholesale business unit, giving insight on risk and opportunities.
• Deliver complex financial modelling relating to wholesale Business Unit KPIs and key value drivers.
• Foster 'business facing', supportive relationships with Tier 2/3 level colleagues in the wholesale business.
• Embed financial control in the wholesale business area.
General
• Manage resources on a cost effective basis in line with budgets.
• Drive forward the business culture and values.
• Develop supportive staff relationships to foster a climate of staff development and succession planning.
• Lead the implementation of process improvements to achieve efficiency savings and accommodate change.
Who we're looking for
• Ability to tailor communication to a diverse audience
• Motivate and develop others on a day to day basis and through change.
• Understands and produces numerical analysis including complex mathematical concepts
• Financially aware and applies this knowledge to work on plans to assist business in meeting objectives
• Can influence the thinking of the wholesale Management Team through presentation of rational business cases
• Strong knowledge of IFRS
• A qualified accountant or equivalent.
• Proven experience of managing colleagues in either a project based or line management capacity
• Educated to degree standard or equivalent.
• Proven experience of implementing and enhancing financial control.
