The Senior Business Development Manager will be tasked with proactively researching and hunting for new business opportunities through a combination of database resource, internet and other media, and through your own lead-generating efforts. You will be selling a unique and tailor-made marketing fulfilment solution to target organisations ranging from medium businesses through to FTSE 100 and global corporations. The post holder will be negotiating this offering to high level economic decision makers such as heads of marketing and corporate communications as well as senior procurement and other organisational silos depending on where the requirement sits.
Whilst this is a new business specific position, their will be a strong element of client relationship and management in order to secure contracts. Sales cycles range between 3-6 months on average but will vary depending on the individual needs, and contract values will be c.£1 million+. You will also have a good degree of autonomy in terms of how to approach the growth of the client base and opportunities can be both national and international.
This role is a combination of office based and very much client facing, and candidates need to be commutable to Middlesex.
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the majority of the following:
• A proven track record of new business sales success (proof of achievement would be desirable).
• Prior exposure to selling complex and multi-faceted solutions over mature sales cycles, and experience in dealing with high value contracts.
• A pro-active self-starter who can operate both individually and as part of a team.
• High commercial acumen and a record of confidence dealing with middle managers through to senior decision makers.
• Excellent communications skills, both written and oral, and a proven ability to present high profile presentations and software demonstrations.
• An ability to work under pressure and to plan long-term sales process development.
