Director of Resources

Skills Academy

Zone 1

Permanent ⁄ £60000 - £65000

Updated May 9, 2008

Working in this dynamic organisation that genuinely reflects the fast paced industry it represents you will take charge of the Finance, Human Resources, I.T & Administration functions managing a team of 9. It is crucial the incoming candidate is comfortable in a business facing role as a large part of this post is in building relationships right across the Academy to give the people who need it the relevant MI to ensure its continued development. As a result the largest part of this role will be spent developing strategies and providing the planning and decision support needed to to make sure the business is being run in a truly commercial way. This will include the commercialisation of its assets, the costing of new courses and crucially ensuring the resources at its disposal are being maximised.

Who we're looking for
You must be a CACB qualified accountant with experience gained in a well run profiled SME business. Whilst an understanding of the not for profit sector might be useful, direct experience is definitely not a pre-requisite. What is essential however is a proven record of achievement in implementing high quality processes and procedures together with "adding value".You must also have a genuinely outgoing personality and be comfortable building and managing key internal and external relationships.

About our client
The academy established by Sir Phillip Green in 2006 has already developed excellent business relationships in the industry ensuring it's students have the best possible career opportunities available to them when graduating. Brands include Topshop, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, M&S and Tesco and substantial time is spent ensuring that the vocational skills gained, directly relate to the needs of the sector. Growth plans include adding 25% to their student intake, adding a post graduate degree course and most importantly ensuring they are seen as a centre of excellence. We believe this to be a truly fascinating opportunity for the right person.
