We are urgently looking for a marketing communications professional with solid PR experience. You will establish the press office, deal with incoming press queries and develop a proactive press outreach campaign.
Activities will include:
• In conjunction with the Head of Marketing and Communications, create and execute the press plan and process;
• Liaison with the internal teams on success stories for PR;
• Client liaison and coaching;
• Drafting press releases and managing their distribution in line with the Press plan and process;
• Monitoring and reporting on press coverage;
• The development and maintenance of relationships with key media targets;
• Providing tactical PR advice at a firm, customer and campaign level;
• Organising media briefings;
• Coordination role for press release sign-off;
• Management of communications materials such as the press release archive, images and staff biographies;
• Liaison with the broader marketing team to ensure coordination of messages internally and externally;
• Liaison with key stakeholders to ensure coordination of messages.
This role will be based in Reading, with a requirement to be in Wiltshire one day per week.
Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have experience of developing a PR Strategy and implementing it, have a network of existing contacts within a mixture of media (inc technology media and national press), understand "media sell in", plus have a keen eye for spotting PR opportunities and the ability to create high profile PR campaigns.
• Strong PR background
• Has worked closely with internal clients to understand their business and communications' requirement to help define key messages
• Experience in creating tailored communications campaigns
• Experience of delivering PR activity in a highly proactive manner
• Experience in motivating internal and customer stakeholders around common objectives in order to deliver the responsibilities of the role
• Ability to work in a highly matrix-ed environment
• Ability to develop and facilitate the creation of communications campaigns with account team personnel at all levels
• Ability to conceptualise, execute, measure and track successful communications programmes
•Be able to think creatively and bring fresh ideas to the table
• Possess strong presentation and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and delivery skills to meet tight deadlines
• Security clearance
