We are currently seeking a Senior Press & PR Officer for Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, for a maternity cover contract.

Working alongside the Communications Manager, you will be solely responsible for the council's external communications.
The successful candidate will be the primary contact for media relations - working with Council members, external parties and journalists to deliver fast and accurate responses to the Council's achievements and policy statements. You will also be tasked on a day to day basis with the production of press releases for issue through broadcast and written press, that will include hands on management and coordination of external photo shoots and arranging media briefings.
In addition to these main duties, you will be responsible for press monitoring, analysis and feedback back within the organisation to allow the timely review of the Council's performance, as well as associated budget and administrative duties.

Who we're looking for
We are looking for somebody with excellent interpersonal skills, to be able to confidently liaise with senior figures within the council and manage the external media. You should have a successful track record within a similar role within local government, be able to work to tight deadlines, show a flexibility in approach and the initiative to suggest process improvements where appropriate.
