As Design Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of a number of our clients most high profile and prestigious projects. You will be responsible for-
• Adherence to company H&S policy
• Reviewing the quality of design information provided at tender stage and undertake a full design gap analysis to advise the bid team of any design shortfalls
• Ensuring designers comply with the company's BMS/QA protocol
• Ensuring that the agreed design is in line with the tender documentation
• Management of design co-ordinators
• Carrying out the role of project manager on live sites as appropriate
• Provide advice on buildability and quality issues
• Comply with company procedures
• Provide leadership when necessary for the D&B department
• In conjunction with the Regional D&B manager, identify resource needs and recruit as appropriate
• Undertake additional responsibilities as required by the business.

The ideal Design Manager will have-
• Understanding the design process and the interface between designers
• The ability to develop and implement best practice
• Confidence in dealing with clients and their consultants
• Capability of working with minimum supervision and on own initiative
• Confidence in dealing with other company department heads
• Leadership - ability to give direction both internally and to designers
• Good communication skills
• Effective team player
• The ability to prioritise
• The ability to offer practical solutions to problems
• The ability to identify and develop talent
•The ability to provide quality information to deadlines
