SQA Engineer

This is a newly created role with a reporting structure to the Group Purchasing and Quality Manager's. You will be responsible for setting up and leading the supplier quality department to identify risk areas associated with new and existing supplier operations. You will spend the majority of your time with Bridon suppliers worldwide leading quality improvement, corrective & preventative actions with suppliers. This will also include the analysis and reporting supplier performance, including cost analysis and recommendations.

Who we're looking for
• Degree or equivalent in a quality, technical or engineering discipline.
• Recognised qualification in quality management.
• Recognised qualification in management systems auditing.
• A proven track record in a supplier quality role, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• In depth knowledge of quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001/QS 9001) and principles, including AQP and PPAP.
• In depth knowledge of total quality management, lean manufacturing principles and business improvement initiatives.
• Leadership skills with business acumen and performance driven motivation.
• Presentation, persuasion and interpersonal skills which are effective and appropriate for Bridon suppliers, customers as well as internal.
• Fact based decision making skills with complimentary numerical and analytical strengths.
• Working knowledge of Six Sigma tools and analytical problem solving techniques.
• Project management skills but with a 'hands on' approach to achieving goals.
• Technical aptitude to permit understanding of Bridon products and processes.
• Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office software.

Bridon are the world leading specialist in the manufacture of wire and rope solutions for the construction, mining, oil & gas extraction, telecommunications, automotive components and other specialised areas of engineering. Due to continued expansion they now need to recruit a high calibre SQA Engineer.
