Category and Trade Marketing Executive

The key part of this role isto integrate thinking across the Trade Marketing and Category Leadership teams. It reports into the Trade Marketing Controller with close links to the Category Leadership Controllers and the Trading Director.

The key responsibility is to deliver trade marketing and category leadership activity, to drive excellence in execution at the point of purchase. This involves the development and implementation of the annual Channel Activity Plan, making range and display recommendations and analysing the most effective trade marketing and category leadership levers to use to drive growth.

Trade Marketing Responsibilities
- Lead, own and implement the Independent Channel Activity plan based on the market activity plan
- Develop and implement any bespoke tailored activities required for the channel
- Work collaboratively with Channel Marketing to ensure alignment and pull through of activities
- Liaise with the activity Trade Marketing Managers and central sales support team to ensure the channel has all the necessary trade marketing tools and information required e.g. POS
- Own and manage the allocated Below the Line budget for all activities
- Provide direction, communication and support to ensure plans deliver against the business priorities and channel needs

Category Management Responsibilities
- Create and own the display benchmark targets for the market channel
- Recommend the right range and display by working effectively with the Category Space Planners. Implement, manage and review key display trials liaising with accounts contacts and suppliers
- Build effective relationships with the key stakeholders,presenting range and activity recommendations
- Liaise and influence internal sales to implement benchmark recordings and measurement of sites to the target benchmark
- Ensure sales teams have the relevant and up to date key market data, e.g. ranking lists and sales aids

Who we're looking for
Key to your success in this role will be your ability to convert data in to meaningful insights. You will be currently in a role where you are analysing data and deriving insights from it in order to influence commercial decision. You will now be looking for a role that takes you to the next level by ensuring that you are dealing with senior managers within the sales function and wider business.
Your key skills that you can take to Mars will be:
• Good data analysis skills
• Ability to think strategically at product, brand, and category level
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
Ideally, you will have knowledge of working with data sources such as IRI, Nielsen, TNS and other grocery data. If you do not know these packages you will at least be comfortable with data analysis and interpretation.
