Due to growth and expansion within the investment area my client is looking for an Investment Analyst to support the Regional Chief Insurance Officer in monitoring the performance of the operating entities across UK, Ireland, Offshore, Italy and Germany operations. In this role you will support the various business units in driving new business development and creating products, and assess the relative value of existing and new investment products and portfolios.

Main duties:
.
• Produce and analyse reports looking at assets and ratings.
• Collate and analysing data.
• Assist in the day to day investment accounting tied to trades (buy/sell) for the multiple portfolios under the supervision of the CIO.
• Assist in monitoring performance data for key total return portfolios, extracting data and reconciling to various databases (internal/outsourced, etc).
• Assist the fund management research team in undertaking ad-hoc performance analysis and attribution analysis.
• Assist the CIO in liaising with the various business units (annuities, PA, Wealth Management Group) in meeting their day to day finance /investment accounting needs.
• Assist the CIO in liaising with the Finance department post trade reporting/reconciliation at a local statutory and US GAAP reporting level.
• Assist the CIO in monitoring /reporting departmental expenses and overall company budget requirements (NII schedules /investment expenses/ budgetary processes, etc).
• Dotted line to the Investment Accounting team and will work very closely with key members of that team, including undertaking training on the various investment accounting software systems in place (PAM, Bloomberg, etc).

Who we're looking for
• Candidates will come from a Life Insurance Company, Investments, Investment Banking, Asset Management, General Insurance, Banking or Building Society background.
• Experience in similar investment accounting /analytical role in financial services company.
• Very good analytical skills.
• IT literate, especially with regard to use of spreadsheets or other quantitative modelling software.
• Ability to work in an unstructured environment with exposure to multiple 'constituents', across the company and at various management levels
• Analytical, methodical, logical and highly numerate.
• Good attention to detail.
• Good quantitative skills.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Ability to liaise well with people at all levels.
• Ability to work well on your own initiative.
• Working to deadlines
• CIMA / ACCA qualified with degree from Accounting, finance, maths, stats or economics
