Due to the success of Mars, and the growth of the team, there are opportunities within Trade Marketing and Category Management that cover three main areas of the team. These are:
1, Category and Trade Marketing Management
2, Category Promotional Strategy Management
3, Category Leadership Management
The roles require you to take ownership of a particular sector of the Category Management process and be the expert within the business for that particular area. This will cover several key aspects of the business process:
• Category strategy and trade implementation
• Ranging and pricing
• Promotional evaluation and effectiveness
• Pack formats and promotional mechanics
• Aligning Trade and Category Strategies to brand, category and sales requirements
You will be utilising data from sources such as IRI, Nielsen, TNS and shopper data in order to analyse the market sectors and make meaningful recommendations to key stakeholders within the process.

Category Management and Trade Marketing are key drivers in the success of Mars and the company's brands. It isessential that the people within the team are comfortable atleading initiatives andCategory activity.Your key qualities will be the ability to look at data and make meaningful recommendations to influence business and category strategy.
You will be comfortable working across teams at all levels in order to influence change. You will have a good overall understanding of the business and be excited about making improvements in the way the business operates at both brand and category level.
You will possess the tenacity and perseverance to ensure that the Category and Trade messages are being understood by key stakeholders within the business, and you will have the strength of personality in order to be credible part of the decision making process. You will respond to support and development from line managers and training departments within the business that will ensure you receive the required levels of development to achieve your career goals.
