The role will predominantly be based on the Birmingham Business Park and will involve providing a HR service to both the National Skills Academy and its sister company Metskill which is based in Sheffield. The role is responsible for providing an efficient and professional generalist HR service to all Managers and staff across both sites. The role also supports the Managing Directors on a daily basis. The role will be mainly operational in nature and responsibilities will include providing advice and guidance on a range of issues including rolling out new policies and procedures, employment law, performance management, absence management, succession planning, managing the health and safety function, recruitment, disciplinaries and grievances and maintaining the HR Information System.
Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will be able to operate autonomously in a HR role and will be a credible individual who is able to quickly form relationships. You will:
• be an excellent communicator
• be CIPD qualified or working towards
• have experience of developing HR policies and implementing procedures and processes
• ideally be from a manufacturing or training background
• be willing to travel occasionally to other sites in the UK
• have experience with facilitation or training
• have excellent up to date knowledge of employment law
• have experience covering multiple sites

They are dedicated to working with UK Manufacturers and Metallurgy organisations to deliver an independent national standard for training content, advice and delivery. Both companies are part of SEMTA which is the sector skills council for Science, Engineering & Manufacturing Technologies in the UK. The National Skills Academy for Manufacturing is based in Solihull where the majority of time will be spent, with occasional travel to Metskill in Sheffield. The whole team is very committed and are dedicated to the cause.
What's on offer
Salary is £30,000 - £35,000 + car / car allowance depending on experience.
