The Business Developer will be tasked with developing contacts at the highest levels within new business prospects and to proactively sell-in new opportunities across the whole portfolio of Echo products and services. The key objective is to identify and deliver increased revenue against key business objectives and targets, while also ensuring the highest levels of client service are achieved.
You will proactively hunt for target organisations through a combination of existing database leads as well as through your own efforts, and to establish communications with those businesses that can benefit from Echo Research's services. You will be selling a broad range of tailor made, stakeholder and ad-hoc market research solutions into senior level, and your remit will cover the full cycle from initial contact through to brief taking, proposal submission and close, much of which will be face-to-face. Beyond the point of sale you will also look to further develop multi-tier relationships to organically grow the account and as such you will be targeted on the revenue and profitability of your portfolio, as well as other KPIs.
The role will report into the Team Manager and you will also look to develop relationships internally in order to maximise revenue streams and to ensure a full service offering.
Candidates need to be commutable to the office base in Godalming, and the nature of the role will cover clients throughout the UK.
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate must come from a market research or agency related field and will have had prior exposure to selling market research solutions. You will also be able to demonstrate the majority of the following:
• Previous experience within a professional services environment, and ideally within either Financial Services or IT/Media/Telco.
• A proven track record of sales success, particularly in relation to new business and business development.
• Excellent communications skills and prior achievement at selling high level, complex and bespoke solutions face-to-face.
• An ability to close business at senior level and to actively develop and manage relationships both internally and externally.
• Good organisational and prioritising skills.
• An achieved marketing or market research qualification would also be beneficial.
