This role will be responsible for the reporting, managing and controlling of the finance of the Group. As the group expands you would become responsible for the development of control and standardisation procedures for the branches which are acquired.
Reporting into the CFO you will be required to construct presentations and explain reported data at Board meetings.
You will also have staff management responsibility as you will have one assistant accountant to support you.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
• Assisting in the supervision of the financial activities.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Support and development of accounting reporting systems.
• Preparation and review of all balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Liaison with the company's auditors and advisers.
• Purchase ledger supervision.
• Assisting in the preparation and analysis of valuations on acquisition opportunities.
• Cost benefit analysis of new starts within a financial/demographic framework.

It is essential that you are able to establish controls immediately. These controls will be the foundation for growth. Once they are in place you will work on developing the reporting/management information so that key information can be produced on a weekly/monthly basis.

Who we're looking for
We are looking for a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) for the role of UK Financial Accountant based in Manchester.
Retail background is useful but not essential.
You will have excellent financial accounting and controls.
