MP&L (Material Planning and Logistics Manager) member of the senior management team with direct management responsibility for all logistics functions, encompassing planning, on site purchase control, expediting , warehouse and distribution.. Providing an integrated approach to managing the total flow of all material and components through the distribution channels from customer through suppliers back to the customer. The successful applicant will need to cover the current Logistics operation (to ensure delivery of tactical and strategic objectives within Warehouse, Planning, Customer Service). Liase with other UK based operations to ensure that UK annual objectives for improvements and cost reductions are exceeded. The logistics manager has responsibility for -
Management of a small team covering the all aspect of MP&L function to achieve delivering on time in full to all customers internal and external. Key aspects of control;

• Production Planning
• BOM Integrity
• Capacity Planning
• Supplier Scheduling
• Contingency Planning
• Supplier/Customer Visibility
• Stock Control
• Customer Interface
• New Product Launch

The successful individual will need to conduct a thorough analysis of how the benefit to the customer of each process, and ultimately to the final customer, can be maximised by rigorous simplification, streamlining and standardisation of the overall activities away from the narrow departmental or functional view.

Who we're looking for
The successful candidate must view the supply chain as a single entity dedicated to the efficient flow of goods and services, with the target of eliminating waste and reducing the total acquisition cost. For this to happen there needs to be a co-coordinating management of all the links in the Supply Chain. The objective is to eliminate the barriers between the links of the chain. It is about optimising the whole to achieve better service at lower total cost and thereby competing with other supply chains in industry.

To be successful in this position, candidates will have a desire to further a career in Supply Chain Management. This position will give the individual an opportunity to participate in the overall operation of the Supply Chain Group. Candidates must have:
• sound business understanding,
• good organisation skills,
• good mathematical aptitude,
• articulation with good verbal and written communication skills,
• knowledge of MRP/ERP/SCM/JIT/Kanban philosophies, practices and techniques,
• ability to operate a personal computer using software such as Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint
