As a result of these exciting changes, the society is seeking a Chief Executive to manage all aspects of the society's commercial and charitable activities. Reporting to the Chairman, responsibilities will include;
• Preparation and implementation of the 5 year strategic business plan aimed at achieving profitable expansion of the total business and all activities
• Capitalising upon EPIC's position as the largest low carbon events centre in the UK
• Developing and delivering a plan to drive the rapid expansion of the Lincolnshire Events Centre
• Developing a plan to deliver the 2 day annual show, widening appeal and increasing visitor numbers
• Managing and developing a talented team
• Delivering the Society's charitable objectives and representing it throughout Lincolnshire and the East Midlands
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will have succeeded at CEO or board level and be used to delivering financial and business objectives that demonstrate the ability to take an organisation forward . You will have strong motivational skills and the ability to liaise and inspire individuals at all levels .A background in an events venue business or from the commercial leisure sector, would be an advantage, although is not essential for a position that provides a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of shaping strategy and delivering future growth within a project that is playing a prominent role in the UK's response to climate change.
About our client
The LAS and Lincolnshire Events Centre are entering an exciting growth phase with the opening of the new EPIC exhibition and conference centre in June 2008. The EPIC is a purpose built; low carbon building that will become a regional centre, offering a multitude of uses, including exhibitions, conferences, social events and educational seminars. The annual 2 day Lincolnshire Show and existing showground already attract over 250 000 visitors per year and the aim is to grow this to over 500 000 over 3 years. The Lincolnshire Events Centre is the commercial operation of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, a registered charity, whose objectives are the promotion of sustainability and innovation in farming, food, the countryside and the environment.
