We are recruiting a non-food Merchandiser for this large supplier business based in North Manchester. You will report into the Stock Services Director and you will have direct accountability for the Assistant Merchandiser. You will be responsible for ensuring that all Purchase Orders are placed accurately and in a timely manner with the factories; work side by side with the Buying Directors/Buyers daily to review and manage all aspects of the Purchase Order book and to ensure they are kept appraised of performance; manage the day-to-day optimization of stock performance in relation to service, sales & profit; Critical Path management; and you must take an active and timely role in advising on free stock & free commitment issues and remedial actions.
Who we're looking for
You are currently a Merchandiser for either a retailer or a supplier business (knowledge of toys would be beneficial), and you have currently or previously had responsibility for managing a direct report.
· Knowledge of shipping / imports advantageous but not essential
· Organisational abilities & communication skills to a high standard
· Must be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
· Highly numerate
· Pro-active & tenacious attitude
