Store Development Manager

To work closely with the Director of Store Development, Merchants, Concessions and Design and Display teams in implementing projects From design and planning through to implementation and evaluation.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Analyse and approve schemes presented by Designers and Architects for capital funded projects, supplier funded projects and combined funded projects.
• Review schemes with Merchants / Directors.
• Take briefs from Merchants / Directors and direct Designers.
• Management responsibility of individual varied projects from inception to completion up to £10million.
• Prepare and draw up projected programme for works and ensure projects adhere to programme.
• Assemble Design Team to develop scheme by interview / invitation of fee proposals.
• Able to work with, oversee and steer a Design Team responsible for project designs.
• Establish Capital warrant sums for project work based upon relevant documentation and pass to Manager for submission to Chairman.
• Manage projects by discussing brief, drawing up technical specifications, preparing tenders, directing technical support teams, managing tenders and reviewing all through to completion.
• Ensure all projects are carried out to the high standards laid down by our client.
• Be fully aware and implement Health and Safety regulations, Planning and Building Control regulations and all other statutory regulations including CDM.
• Ensure that projects are managed effectively within agreed budgets.
• Effectively liaise with all user groups e.g. Store Operations, Security, Fire Safety department, HIS, Engineers, etc.
• Effectively facilitate relevant meetings, record proceedings and communicate with tact and clarity to all parties.
• Take management responsibility for financial expenditure ranging from capital warrants, settlement of final accounts and processing invoices.
• Co-ordinate and manage Concession Construction teams to ensure programmes of works are completed effectively and standards achieved.
• Ensure sufficient working practices to accommodate requirements from Merchants and Directors e.g. shelf replacements, new carpeting etc.
• Develop Store Planning strategy within the Store.

Who we're looking for
• Working Knowledge of a quality retail or blue chip environment.
• Professionally qualified in either Design or Architecture with a clear understanding of the principles of good design.
• Working knowledge of Store Planning and Project Management from design to completion.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills allied with tact and diplomacy.
• Highly organised with strong analytical skills.
• Confidendence and determination to get the job done at all costs.
• A team player with a desire for excellence
