Electrical Control Engineer

Chemical

Lancashire

Permanent ⁄ £40000 - £45000

Updated June 16, 2008

Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, the EC&I Engineer will be integral to the Company's continued drive for improvement and development. You will work within a mixed environment of legacy systems and new-edge technology including Foundation Fieldbus and Yokagawa DCS systems. The site is regulated under both COMAH lower tier and a recently acquired PPC.
On a day-to-day basis you will be involved in the specification, assessment, installation and oversight of the site control systems. You will play a key role in terms of capital projects and future-state planning.

Who we're looking for
You will be an existing EC&I specialist with competent person status. Though AGC is a chemical manufacturer we are willing to consider applicants from other process-based environments. Critical to success in this role is a collaborative, team based approach. You will have an understanding not only of cutting edge PLC/DCS systems but also of engineering first principles, as some of the legacy systems require specific understanding. You should have an excellent understanding of risk assessments and safety systems.
You will be of graduate calibre and ideally will either currently hold or be working towards chartered status.
