Financial Accountant

This is a pivotal role within the business and will require excellent technical knowledge of fixed assets and the ability to communicate at senior levels. Due to the number of acquisitions happening within the business, you will be dealing with the Global CFO and stakeholders on a regular basis. Specific duties will include:
• Manage the financial ledger of a legal entity in compliance with local laws/GAPs, tax codes, government regulations and filing requirements, including booking all relevant journals in SAP.
• Review, document and continually enhance control procedures around maintenance of fixed assets in compliance with GE GAAP 20.
• Ownership of the Assets Under Construction (AUC) balance, includes business partnering with cost centre managers, and analysis and review to ensure appropriate compliance with nil P&L risk.
• Complete and accurate account reconciliations, utilizing SAP and the GBS reconciliation systems.
• Drive review of potential impairment, with appropriate accounting treatment.
• Manage on-going physical asset tagging and related fixed asset register management.
• Drive accuracy of fixed asset balance recorded in ERP system, ensuring compliance within SOPs and business/company policies.
• Manage regular balance sheet reviews and variance analyses on fixed asset balances. Effectively communicating results to Global Controller MDx, Supply Chain Finance Manager, and UK Financial Controller MDx.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting for Corporate/Business requests, acting as an effective business partner to the business.
• Active participant in controllership initiatives and internal and external audit projects.

Who we're looking for
Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or other business related field and accounting or finance experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
Exposure to a large scale ERP system, demonstrating affinity to IT systems (including all Microsoft applications)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner
Strong analytical skills: leverage business acumen able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change
Clear thinking/problem solving: successfully led projects/process improvements within operations/finance functions; able to quickly grasp new ideas
Adaptable/Flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations
Integrity: accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others
