Training & Development Manager

The Training & Development Manager will prepare and lead a comprehensive training programme for the development of skills and behaviours of Line Leaders, Technical Operators and Engineers necessary for the site to achieve World Class manufacturing standards with a flexible, motivated and capable workforce. The post holder will assist in the cultural development of the Wrexham site, raising standards within the blue collar workforce and creating a positive attitude through personal development.

• Supporting line managers in the analysis of training needs (including development and co-ordination of an appraisal scheme), preparation of skills and behavioural development programmes (delivering training sessions or sourcing appropriate training providers and agreeing service levels), building an internal team of trained-trainers, developing an accurate training record system and evaluation of training programmes.
• Establish and deliver an agreed training strategy and delivery plan with key stakeholders within the business.
• Identify training and development needs through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with line managers and union learning representatives.
• Manage the site's training budget, ensure the costs for programmes are kept within budget with emphasis on return on investment.
• Develop and monitor appraisal process, supporting line managers and individuals where appropriate and develop effective development plans.
• Identify, select and manage external training and accreditation bodies, agencies and providers necessary to deliver training which strides for world class standards
• Organise training venues, logistics, transport, accommodation as required to achieve efficient training attendance & delivery
• Ensure all training activities and resources meet relevant company and statutory polices, including health & safety, employment, equality etc.

Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in developing lean manufacturing techniques through the development of a blue collar workforce. Previous experience of working in an FMCG environment would be a benefit as the company aims to develop world class standards within the sector.
