Security Operations Manager

This role will see the successful person taking control of a team of up to 12 direct reports and over 200 members of staff. Your main function within this position will be to manage the operational security function relating specifically to the security and search of passengers within Glasgow airport. Within this role you will be tasked with the management of a multi million pound budget relating directly to the overall staff and running of the security within this BAA airport. Your responsibility will extend to the optimisation of a complex staff rota system, strategically being able to improve this system making it more cost effective, whilst maintaining the optimum level of staffing throughout the security teams will be of upmost importance.
Along with the above criteria this role will place a large amount of emphasis on the leadership and development of key members of your team, you will be expected to mentor and coach your team allowing you to get the very best performance out of every member. This diverse role will see you managing several different areas whilst continually reviewing process and procedures allowing you to take the appropriate action to remedy problems and continuously improve department standards.
Key Accountabilities:
Security Operations - Passenger Search
• Ensure the optimum use of manpower through determining manning levels, shift patterns and the size and effective deployment of search teams across the Security Operation.
• Promote excellent customer service through demonstrating excellent leadership.
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with staff in order to develop high performing teams
• Promote an excellent customer experience culture within the Security Team to ensure that target
People Management
• Recruitment of staff and planning and monitoring induction to the Company
• Managing the training and development of the team
• Managing the Performance Development Process
Compliance
• Responsible for personal and team compliance with Company Health and Safety, Security and environment/Sustainable Development Policies, ensuring working practices minimise risk to self, work colleagues, customers, staff and the environment.
• To comply with all legal and statutory obligations applicable to this role

Who we're looking for
You will be of graduate calibre with an outstanding track record of accomplishment and success within you given market. Not only that but you will be an outstanding people manager having had experience of managing complex staffing systems within your previously role.To be successful in this position you will need to provided evidence of your ability to manage multi million pound budgets,high volume shift orientated staffing systems within a fast paced change environment. BAA is a highly unionised environment that prides itself on the working relationship it has with its unions. Although it is not necessary for you to have previous union experience, it is essential that you have the commercial awareness and ability to negotiate at all levels within the business.
As a manager you will be the type of person your piers naturally gravitate towards for advice, guidance and support, this is extremely important within the role as you will be seen as the right hand person to the general manager. This support will be at both an operational and strategic level.

What's on offer
Basic salary £35,000 to £40,000, Bonus and Benefits.
