Environmental Engineering Consultant to work in Engineering and Environmental Consulting in Glasgow or Edinburgh (Dunfermline)
The right individual and successful consultant will liaise with clients and assist to resolve their environmental issues. This will involve contact with SEPA and researching relevant information on legislation (such as IPPC, RoHS, WEEE Directives and Waste Management), plus implementation of best practice in Environmental Management - such as setting up systems to track Environmental Performance Indicators and advising clients where savings may be made, or assisting in running an EMS at a site. Design and delivery of Environmental Awareness presentations and training industrial clients in EMS Implementation, energy, waste and water savings forms part of this job role.
The selected candidate will work within a supportive and driven team, contributing to meeting Group targets for sales and project completion. Some travel is involved, for which a pool car is available.
Who we're looking for
The selected candidate will:
have an education to Bachelors (Hons) or Masters Degree in environmental science, environmental management or a related subject;
knowledge and experience of ISO 14001 /BS 8555 training and implementation, IPPC permit application preparation activities, WEEE / RoHS and waste minimisation;
have the ability to present environmental information clearly to both shop floor workers and management;
have excellent oral and written communication skills and will pay close attention to detail and quality;
be a 'self-starter' and commercial awareness is an advantage;
be adaptable and flexible combined with technical excellence;
be proficient with Microsoft Professional software packages, and
have a current driving licence.
