Reporting to the HR Director, this is a significant role leading an HR team of 14 within a large Retail organisation. Based at Head Office near Portsmouth but with a Regional remit, this role will be responsible for driving business performance through effective delivery of the HR strategy. Key accountabilities include:
- To provide a comprehensive, efficient and effective HR service encompassing resourcing, learning and development, compensation, benefits, employee relations and industrial relations, wellness and welfare.

- To develop and implement learning and development strategies and practices in line with the company's vision.

- To champion diversity and equal opportunities and to ensure policies, procedures and practices are communicated effectively to be adhered to by all employees.

- To regularly benchmark and review the HR function and service level against best practice to ensure the HR function is identified as of very high quality.

- To ensure the HR function provides appropriate guidance and support to managers when handling complex, sensitive and formal cases ensuring that procedural and legal requirements are met.

- To manager and report on all HR Metrics and KPI's such as Labour Turnover, Absence, Stability, Staff Structures etc.

- To ensure that expense budgets and forecasts are set and adhered to.

- To develop the HR Strategy and ensure that it is in line with the company's business and vision.

- To actively contribute to the setting of personnel cost objectives and their achievement.

- To develop and implement effective communication channels and processes including media, surveys, focus and user groups.

- To participate in multi-disciplinary project teams.

- To manage all TUPE HR and related aspects of acquisitions and disposals.

Who we're looking for
Our client are looking for a fully CIPD qualified generalist with multi site experience. The ideal candidate will have a recent background within the Retail or hospitality sector with previous team management experience. Your client group will mostly consist of Area Managers however you must be able to influence at all levels including as part of the Senior management team.
