As a Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor candidates you will be expected to possess considerable knowledge and skills attained during your previous work experience within the building construction and/or civil engineering industry.
Duties will comprise but not be limited to:
Measuring and describing Mechanical & Electrical work including the preparation of tender documentation and negotiation with contractors
Preparing and using detailed budgets and cost plans
Preparing and interpreting turnover / cash flow projections and profit / loss forecasts
Undertaking the valuing of variations and potential variations
Preparing interim applications for payment
Preparation and presentation of financial control/WIP documentation
The preparation and agreement of final accounts
Procurement of Sub-contractor packages for enquiry to order, then management through to final account agreement.
Management and control of major projects within the construction and related industries
Deal with significant contractual issues including extensions of time, loss and or expense claims, terms and conditions etc
Attend, hold and chair meetings with, clients, subcontractors, internal.
Who we're looking for
Candidates will ideally have attained a recognised degree in the building construction and/or civil engineering profession, be a chartered member of the RICS or CIOB, or have gained significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor and acquired excellent knowledge and skills in the following areas:
The building construction services industry
IT and the ability to use a variety of computer software
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
Proven Client Management and Business Development Skills
Ability to mentor and coach less experienced colleagues
Demonstrate an excellent all round knowledge of the following:
Measurement Practice and application
M&E Building Services Installation including BMS & IT Systems
Mechanical and Electrical Services Technology; Public Health Technology
Construction Law and Practice
Commercial Management Practices and understanding and applications of Standard Forms of Contracts
