Design Manager is required to take responsibility for all design aspects of a D+B New Build project; you will manage the complete construction design process. When projects are awarded the role is focused upon developing the design into the construction phase then supporting the project team offering guidance and advice upon build ability issues when on site.
Specific responsibilities include management of the design process, management of Architects, Structural Engineers and subcontractor design responsibilities, driving value management, design co-ordination, ensure the design process recognises current legislation, standards and Codes of Practice, performance monitoring and co-ordination of design programmes.
Who we're looking for
Responsible to: Technical Director
Objectives: To promote the company and to achieve the following objectives.
• To provide detailed design information for the construction team, enabling projects to be completed within programme, budget and specification requirements.
• To ensure good relationships with Clients, Consultants, sub-contractors and suppliers.
• To obtain quotations from Consultants, sub-contractors and suppliers as appropriate.
• To lead the design process and collation of design information.
• To actively research and advise upon alternative construction processes.
• To actively participate with the project tea m to the benefit of each project.
• To assist Estimators in preparing D&B submissions, as requested.
• Adapt/qualify ER's in tender. (A3 copy or ER's and amended at side).
