As Regional Building Surveyor you will be responsible for the delivery of property maintenance services to the southern region, containing approximately 1150 stores.

Key responsibilities will include;
•Operational and budgetary control of the day-to-day maintenance and capital repair works.
• The organisation and implementation, from inception to completion, of various capital works and major repairs.
• Supervision of property related insurance claims.
• Management of the Property Services Co-coordinators.
• Effective management of multiple problems or tasks.
• Provision of clear direction to others.
• Prioritisation of tasks to make the best use of time and resources.
• Sufficient planning to ensure that there is expertise and resource to match business requirements.
• Accurate analyses and interpretation of commercial data.
• Justification of expenditure in terms of the business environment.
• Negotiating effectively to secure the best deal.

Who we're looking for
The Successful Regional Building Surveyor will ideally possess a professional qualification i.e. CIOB/RICS Building Surveying degree or be a strong APC Candidate. As you will be travelling throughout the region a full driving licence is essential.

You must be able to:
• Demonstrate strong commercial awareness,
• Self-manage both your workload and your professional relationships, internally and externally.
• Have a methodical and systematic approach to work and problem solving.
• Demonstrates tact and sensitivity whilst dealing with others.
• Be a strong team player
• Maintain up-to-date professional CPD records (at least 20 hours per annum).
• Execute planned maintenance service contracts.
• Identify reoccurring problems from trend/data analysis via the Maintenance Helpdesk and spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel), investigated and permanent solutions implemented with option to reclaim charges.
• Display relevant and significant knowledge in sound structure, defect knowledge and diagnosis.
• Have a working knowledge of managing external consultants and specialist contractors.
• Competent in all aspects of property maintenance refurbishment and professional building surveying duties.
• Responsible for contractor performance and selection in the South Region.
• Prepare and write clear and concise specification documents for pricing and remedial works.
